The Green Rooms at MediaCity is an existing BTR development where we were appointed to upgrade the amenity and reception areas, replacing mismatched and impractical furniture and décor with a more cohesive and functional scheme, to benefit the tenants.
The budget was tight, and the client was keen to retain as much of the existing furniture as possible, both to manage costs and minimise waste. As a result, the project became an exercise in repurposing and reimagining, from finishes through to spatial layout.
We reallocated furniture between the front and rear areas of the building, redefining the large open-plan amenity space to take full advantage of the expansive windows overlooking Salford Quays. The layout was reconfigured to include a social and games area, with added bespoke wall-fixed bar table and custom scoreboard, a modernised co-working zone, and a series of more intimate lounge settings, allowing residents to feel comfortable whether gathering in groups or spending time alone.
New storage solutions were introduced to improve both functionality and visual cohesion, while lamps, rugs and accessories were layered in to refresh and elevate previously tired areas. The most impactful visual transformation came from refinishing and reupholstering the existing banquette seating, replacing worn, unattractive fabric with a far more durable and refined soft faux leather.
